Saturday morning bliss…

Good morning! I thought Saturday would never get here. It’s been busy, but a productive week. One week ago I started a new chapter in this thing we call life. I was tired of being tired. For the last couple of months I’ve been struggling to make my word counts, but now, well I’m exceeding them and the brain fog is clearing out.

I’ve been working on my Christmas romance that should’ve been finished two weeks ago, but with the brain fog, I wasn’t up to my potential. Now, that’s all changed. I’m making up for the lost time and adding the words I’ve missed. I can’t wait for the release of this sweet romance. It will have you singing Jingle Bells and wanting to go out and deck the halls.

As for my health, I started using the Thrive system last week and I’m amazed at the results in just a week. My energy is coming back and my concentration is where it needs to be. Oh and all of you know how much I love my coffee, well, I’m down to one and a half cups a day, Amazing! With all this energy, I might finish next years Christmas book by Easter!

So, what do you guys have planned for today? Me, I’m getting my house in order, then helping get our Church ready for the Fall Festival that’s happening tomorrow. But I will be getting in my extra word count this afternoon.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Get that Friday feeling…

Smile

Hey guys! It’s Friday and I’m feeling great. For a while, I’ve been so sluggish and my mind’s been foggy, but now, well, I’m back to feeling great. I followed the advice of my sister in law and started a new healthy regimen. I also started using Thrive, which has jumpstarted my energy. My writing brain is back in the game and I’ve been hitting my word counts again.

Since I have my writing back, I have several exciting things coming down the pipe. One is my upcoming Christmas book release, “Hideaway Lane”.  So, in honor of my renewed energy and excitement, here’s a peek at the cover!

Throwback Thursday – A family saga…

IMG_4316

Good Thursday morning! I know, I’ve been awol for over a week, but I have a great excuse. Between work (Accounting) and writing, plus my bathroom renovation, I’ve been out of pocket. But, I’m back. Did you miss me?

Today I want to talk about writing a family saga. If you’ve read my Five Oaks Ranch series, then you know it’s all about the Cauthen family. Each book explores the life of each sibling. You can’t help but fall in love with them. They have a personality all their own. Even a couple of times you might not like them, but then they pull you back in.

If you haven’t read this series, then grab a copy today. Ridge has been in the top 100 on Amazon for going on two years for Sagas and Anthologies & Collections. It’s amazing the rate that the others are selling. I’m in awe of the fascination my readers have for this series.

Have a great Thursday and remember, grab a book, it’s the best way to keep the mind busy and active…

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

A crisp, cool morning…

img_2287

Good morning! Here in Georgia, it’s finally feeling like fall. I love this time of year. And the fun part is, my writer’s brain goes into overdrive. Which gives my fingers a workout and my computer a heart attack.

I’m working on the 2nd book in the Wishful Harbor series. It’s actually based at this time of year, so I feel the cool, crisp bite in the air as I write the words. I can see the landscape around me. The leaves are turning and the sky is bluebird blue. As my characters walk up the sidewalk, I can smell the fresh crisp clean air. Yes, I get lost in the world of my characters everytime I work. It’s amazing the world’s I’ve seen through the eyes of my characters.

So, when’s your favorite time of the year to write?

Three cups & a book…

Good Thursday morning! I do hope you’re all well…

This morning I’m working on the outline for the 2nd book in the Wishful Harbor Series. It’s exciting when you start a new manuscript, but it’s scary too! As a writer, you want to pull the reader in with the first paragraph, but what if you don’t? Publishing your work is scary, but satisfying when you see the sales and responses from readers.

As I outline, I have a bad habit of writing instead of outlining. Yep, some of my outlining will be used in the actual book because I get carried away, but that’s fine. One thing that helps is I use Scrivener, so I can set up my chapters and copy/paste the part I love that will go in the book. Yep, another win for Scrivener.

But, along with writing, I have to grab another cup of coffee to keep me going. So, I’d best get back to finishing this outline and getting another cup of coffee.

So, great writing and May God Bless You…

Closing a story…

It’s looking to be a rainy Monday here in Georgia, but I’m smiling. This weekend I published Promises Forgotten, the 2nd book in the Sky Ridge Series. I’m super stoked about that release. But I have another surprise for my readers…

I published a book in 2013 that was left on a cliffhanger. The book held my heart in many ways, but the 2nd book seemed to stay just far enough away that I couldn’t get it to work right. Every time I started to write the 2nd book, it would slip away. Well, it all came flowing in a couple of weeks ago, coming in like a tidal wave. Then on Saturday, I wrote the last word with a satisfied sigh.

It’s so crazy. When I was writing the first book, Open the Heart, the continued story was at the tip of my tongue, but then it just went away. So, as some authors do, I put it away until it came back. I didn’t want to do the first book injustice or the characters. I’m excited that Lacey’s Choice is about to be published.

So, as I drift through this haze of accomplishment, I hope all of you have a fantastic day!

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Pumpkin Spice, Grey’s & Outlander, Oh my!

Good Friday morning everyone! Smile people, the weekend is almost upon us. This has been a crazy week, well, actually it’s been a crazy couple of weeks. Sorry, I’ve been a little awol, but life sometimes takes over along with two books that need finishing…

Oh, yeah, not to mention that two of my favorite shows had their season premieres. Yes, I’m talking Grey’s Anatomy and Outlander. No, I’m not doing any spoilers here, so don’t be afraid to read on. Last but not least, pumpkin spice everything is back. And if you’ve followed my blog for any amount of time, you know how happy that makes me.

As I sit here, sipping my pumpkin spice flavored coffee and watching the newest episode of Grey’s Anatomy, I’m noticing that it is still dark at 6:47 here in Georgia. Although Fall is one of my favorite seasons, I don’t enjoy the dark mornings. It makes it hard to wake up. I’m not a morning person, to begin with, but I do need the sun to get my eyes open. Of course, the older I get, the earlier my body wants to get up.

So, what’s your favorite pumpkin spice flavored thing?
