High Heels and Bicycle Wheels Jane Linfoot

What inspired you to write this book?

Bryony marched on to the page fully formed in The Right Side of Mr Wrong, and after I finished that book she refused to go away until I’d given her a story of her own.

I love watching pro cycling, and I’m fascinated by the mindset of the top riders, who have super-human strength both mentally and physically. One day at a cycle race and I saw a young blonde TV presenter interviewing a top cyclist. I immediately thought Yay! this is Bryony’s story! A pro cyclist would be a perfect match for her own strength. I admit that I drew a lot on my own tandem riding experiences for the part where Bryony rides a tandem with Jackson. We both do a lot of screaming going downhill.

What’s your favourite part of this book and why?

I love the way Bryony and Jackson have a complete clash of wills at the same time as being hugely attracted to each other. And I particularly love the end of the book.

What is your philosophy on writing and life?

In life it’s very important to me to be happy every day. I tend to find humour in most situations, and I guess this passes through into my writing. I’m lucky because I hate giving up, and that’s a great trait for a writer to have.

Jane Linfoot Author Bio 1.

I’m Jane Linfoot, and I write fun, flirty fiction, with feisty heroines and a bit of an edge.

I live in a mountain kingdom in Derbyshire, England, where my family and pets are kind enough to ignore the domestic chaos – happily, we’re in walking distance of a supermarket. For me, writing romance is cool because I get to wear pretty shoes instead of wellies. I love hearts, flowers, happy endings, all things vintage, most things french. When I’m not on facebook, and can’t find an excuse for shopping, I’ll be walking, or gardening. On days when I want to be really scared, I ride a tandem.

Meet Bryony: She’s a fun-loving, very single TV production assistant whose idea of sport is the Jimmy Choo sales scrum

Meet Jackson: Cycling’s bad boy superstar. Injured and out of racing this summer, without his training he’s looking for another distraction.

Bryony’s facing a triple whammy – her last single friend just named the day, her mother’s offering to have her eggs frozen, and the guy she’s loved from afar, forever, just got hitched. So she’s more than happy to accept the offer of a totally out of character but seriously steamy one night of no-strings fun. Especially when the guy in question is so attractive he even looks good in Lycra!

Jackson’s on the look out for a new career but if the opportunity to work on TV means a fortnight with the most uptight woman in the world, he’d rather not bother. He never goes in for seconds – and who in their right mind would head off in a camper van with a woman who irons her knickers?

Add in a tandem (yes, a tandem) and fast forward to double trouble for a summer neither of them will ever forget!

Romancing September Across the World – Day 29 Rae Rivers

Welcome to Day 29 of the 2nd Annual Romancing September Across The World Blog Tour. I’ve teamed up with Rosie Amber again this year. We’re promoting 30 awesome romance authors in 30 days. Help us out by cross promoting when you can and check out these authors.

Don’t forget to go over to Rosie Amber’s page and check out her page too.

Today my guest author is Rae Rivers and I want to thank her for blogging with me today. Here is a little about her and her book The Keepers: Declan.

Declan Cover Rae Rivers

  • What inspired you to write this book?

Until this series, I’d always only written romantic suspense stories.  Initially the idea of Sienna came to mind – a powerful witch destined to protect the balance of nature.  With her duties and responsibilities comes great dangers so the idea of a Keeper came to mind – someone to help her, protect her and be her ally in protecting the balance.  In her case, because of her importance and power, she comes with three Keepers – three brothers, four books, hot romance and one huge epic adventure!

  • What’s your favourite part of this book and why?

I loved the scenes with Declan and Kate together as their romance journey is so beautiful.  I’m particularly pleased with the ending of this book as it turned out so differently to the first draft.  Writing the second ending was an adrenaline fuelled ride for me  – and the book is better because of it.

  • What is your philosophy on writing and life?

Have fun.  Be it writing or living … have fun.

  • Name your three favourite books that you’ve written — feel free to list buy links

My first book ever written was a romantic suspense book, Cat Got Your Tongue?  Filled with art heists, cat burglars and spicy romance, this was so much fun to write.  Since then, I’ve written The Keepers: Sienna, The Keepers: Archer – and most recently, The Keepers: Declan.  My favourite is probably Declan.  Although this wasn’t the easiest book to write, I really enjoyed the writing experience as this was the first book I’d ever written knowing I had eager readers waiting for it.  Their daily messages of support and enthusiasm was something I treasured whilst writing Declan and I really hope they enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.   http://smarturl.it/TheKeepers

5) What are your goals for this year?

Personally – to organise my life better.  Balancing motherhood, life and writing has been a challenge and something always suffers in the end.  My goal for this year is to get more organised!  Professionally  – to complete the last book in the series and have the time of my life doing it!! As for after that … I have another idea in mind that’s itching for attention.  Can’t wait!

6) If you had to give one piece of advice what would it be?

Follow your dreams, trust your instincts and believe in yourself.  And laugh.  A lot.

“You lied to me, misled me, attacked me,” Declan murmured, dipping his head toward hers, “but what we had three months ago wasn’t fake, was it?”

Kate’s gaze faltered to his lips, heat pulsing between them. But she didn’t deny it.

Declan Bennett has zero tolerance for thieves. He and his brothers, the Keepers, are fiercely protective of their witch, Sienna, and their privacy.

So when Kate Carrigan breaks into their estate, he’ll be damned if he lets the little wildcat get away with it – especially after she seduced him three months ago, leaving him buck-naked in a New Orleans hotel. Declan wants payback – and some answers.

Before she was murdered, Kate’s mother ingrained it in her not to trust anyone.  Kate’s magical powers make her a pawn in the war between good and evil, a war she’s always avoided.  Declan is everything she’s been taught to fear, even if she can’t forget the memory of his touch that one night…

Trouble is brewing as the powers of evil regroup – bolder and hungrier than ever – and Kate is forced to choose a side.

Hot romance, epic battles and action abound in Book 2 of The Keepers.

1) What inspired you to write this book? Jennifer was a character in my previous two books in the series (SAFFRON NIGHTS and CRAVINGS) and I really wanted to challenge her character in this book and wanted to give her a happy ending. So the character of Jennifer inspired me.

2) What’s your favourite part of this book and why? The depth in the relationship between Jennifer and Gray. It was like a huge onion that I kept peeling. I also loved the Scottish setting and all of the bee & honey stuff.

3) What is your philosophy on writing and life? Balance and moderation in all things.

4) Name your three favourite books that you’ve written — feel free to list buy links

About the book:

Wanted: A Hot Honey of a Man

Love brought Jennifer D’Amico to Scotland, but it’s honey that makes her stay. Her honey farm is all the beautiful widow has left of her brief marriage. All she needs is a master beekeeper to get the flailing business back on track. What she gets is Grayson McGhilly, a boldly sexy stranger who knows his honey–almost as well as he knows how to bring Jennifer to the brink of passion. . ..

From the moment Gray lays eyes on Jennifer, he’s hooked, mind and body. But his mission isn’t just to savor every succulent inch of her, but to keep her from harm. For Gray isn’t just a beekeeper, but an undercover agent investigating criminal activity at her farm. And now he’ll do just about anything to keep the sweet and oh-so-satisfying Jennifer safe in his arms. . ..

Bio

Liz lives in the gorgeous Shenandoah Valley in Virginia with her family. She writes under a pen name to escape expectations and embrace all possibilities. She’s the author of the SAFFRON NIGHTS SERIES (e-Kensington). She also writes regional bestselling cookbooks and Agatha-award nominated traditional mysteries under her own name. On any given day, you may find her researching murder, sex, or cooking techniques. She’d not have it any other way.

Romancing September Across the World – Day 27 Romy Sommer

Welcome to Day 27 of the 2nd Annual Romancing September Across The World Blog Tour. I’ve teamed up with Rosie Amber again this year. We’re promoting 30 awesome romance authors in 30 days. Help us out by cross promoting when you can and check out these authors.

Don’t forget to go over to Rosie Amber’s page and check out her page too.

Today my guest author is Romy Sommer and I want to thank her for blogging with me today. Here is a little about her and her book To Catch A Star.

Romy Sommer To catch a star

1) What inspired you to write this book?

This story has been my easiest to write so far because the characters and central plot emerged as I wrote the previous two books (Waking up in Vegas and The Trouble with Mojitos). So by the time I sat down to write this one, I already knew what was going to happen in To Catch a Star.

All my books so far have at least one scene inspired by a movie. In The Trouble with Mojitos I have one scene that was ‘lifted’ from Audrey Hepburn’s Roman Holiday, and this book owes its opening scene to Singin in the Rain. (Can you guess that I enjoy classic movies?)

2) What’s your favourite part of this book and why?

My favourite part of the book is the finale. I felt a lot of stress writing this scene because my previous two books ended with big, grand finishes (one ends with a flash mob proposal) and I felt under pressure to top those. What could be bigger than a public declaration of love? But I think I managed to crack it, and now this is my favourite scene. (And it pays homage to a popular TV series. Let me know if you spot the connection!)

3) What is your philosophy on writing and life?

This is a tough question, but I guess it would be to stay true to who you are. What interests and inspires you? What do you care most about? Hang on to those things, both in life and in writing. Don’t change who you are or what you write because you think it might please someone else. That goes for friends, lovers, editors and even book reviewers!

4) Name your three favourite books that you’ve written — feel free to list buy links

That’s like asking a mom to choose which is her favourite child – I love all the books I’ve written!

Of my three Westerwald books published by Harper Impulse Waking up in Vegas was a breeze to write which makes it an easy favourite. To Catch a Star is also a favourite since it’s more complex than my other books, with much more story going on in it and more secondary characters.

Waking up in Vegas:  http://smarturl.it/Vegas

To Catch a Star: http://smarturl.it/CatchStar

I also write historical novellas set in the 1920s under the name Rae Summers. Of my four Rae books, I think my favourite might be Prohibited Passion. Though it’s my only book with no sex in it, it was a fun book to write and I completely fell in love with my Prohibition gangster hero.

Prohibited Passion: http://smarturl.it/ProhibitedPassion

5) What are your goals for this year?

My goal for this year has less to do with what books I want to write and more to do with living life. This year I want to find more of a balance between work and relaxation. Much though I love writing and it feels more like play than work, I need to take more time out to meet friends, read, watch a bit of TV and just plain ole sleep!

6) If you had to give one piece of advice what would it be?

Follow your dreams. No matter whether your dream is to write a book, travel to a particular destination or learn hang gliding, do it!! You are worth living up to your dreams.

Book blurb

‘A fairy-tale romance to warm even the coldest of hearts.’ Chloe’s Chick Lit Reviews

Teresa Adler is the ultimate Ice Princess, with a heart as frozen as the winter landscape of her beloved home, Westerwald. All her life, she’s belonged to the ‘inner circle’ of wealth, privilege and position.

Christian Taylor: Heartthrob. Movie Star. Bad Boy. The mischievous actor sets temperatures soaring in the picturesque baroque principality – and with a wicked glint in his eye and a chip on his shoulder he sets his sights on the one thing he’s told he can’t have. Teresa.

While Tessa holds the ultimate clue to the secret of Christian’s parentage, it is the heat of his touch that will make this Ice Princess feel more alive than she ever has before…

Biography

I’ve always written stories for myself, but didn’t even think of being an author until I realised that being over thirty and living in a fantasy world was a little odd.

Writing those same stories for other people makes it a lot more acceptable! By day I dress in cargo pants and boots for my not-so-glamorous job of making movies but at night I come home to my two little Princesses, and I get to write Happy Ever Afters. Since I believe every girl is a princess, and every princess deserves a happy ending, what could be more perfect?

Romancing September Across the World – Day 25 Michelle Betham

Welcome to Day 25 of the 2nd Annual Romancing September Across The World Blog Tour. I’ve teamed up with Rosie Amber again this year. We’re promoting 30 awesome romance authors in 30 days. Help us out by cross promoting when you can and check out these authors.

Today my guest author is Michelle Betham and I want to thank her for blogging with me today. Here is a little about her and her book Striker.

DIGITAL CAMERA Striker Cover

1) What inspired you to write this book?

I’m a huge football/soccer fan, have been since I was young. And I’ve always wanted to write a romance set against the backdrop of professional football. I was also a really big fan of Footballers’ Wives when it was on TV – I loved all that glamorous escapism, but at the same time I knew the life of a professional footballer wasn’t always that glamorous. And that’s what I wanted to portray in this book – that behind closed doors, The Beautiful Game isn’t always that pretty… Oh, and when I was a teenager I really wanted to be a football journalist, but I never had the confidence to pursue that career, so I suppose you could say I’m living that secret dream through Amber Sullivan, the female sports reporter in ‘Striker’!

2) What’s your favourite part of this book and why?

I think I’d have to say the early part of the book, when Amber and Ryan meet for the first time. I really enjoyed writing that scene because, even though it isn’t an easy first encounter, there’s an air of intense sexual chemistry there – they just don’t realise it at the time!

3) What is your philosophy on writing and life?

My philosophy on writing definitely has to be do it because you love it. That’s certainly the reason I write. And my philosophy on life? Enjoy every day as much as you can, and don’t ever take anything for granted.

4) Name your three favourite books that you’ve written — feel free to list buy links

Ooh, this is a hard one really because I’ve loved writing all of my books, but, I do have favourites…

1 – ‘Unbreakable’ –  A sexy sheriff, a past love, and a whole lot of small town secrets! I adored writing this one! amzn.to/1k3mi0U

2 – ‘See You At The Show’ – The first rock star romance I ever wrote, borne out of my total love of rock music, and rock stars! amzn.to/UF7E3Q

3 – ‘Striker’ –  I loved every minute of writing this book, because it contains characters I have truly fallen in love.  amzn.to/1pfcBOf

5) What are your goals for this year?

To make the deadline for my next book is my main goal, I think! And to try and put down on paper some of the many ideas I’ve got for a lot more future books so I can start next year with a plan!

6) If you had to give one piece of advice what would it be?

Well, If I had to give one piece of writing advice it would be don’t write what you think people want to read; find your own voice, and learn to love it.

‘Striker’ book blurb

 It’s time to play dirty…

Amber Sullivan is an ambitious, beautiful and feisty Sports reporter for a local TV news programme. With an ex-professional soccer player for a father, she’s grown up in and around the world of premiership football, and boy does she know better than to get mixed up with the men who play the game. As rich and charming as they are, Amber has a strict no player rule.

One of the biggest names in football, Ryan Fisher is young, hot, and talented. He has it all – looks, fame, money; not to mention women falling at his over-insured feet and a lifestyle he’s in no hurry to give up.

At the centre of a multi-million-pound transfer deal back to his home club, Ryan’s a big scoop for a local sports journalist and Amber can’t afford to miss this career-making opportunity – even if that means having to interview the cocky sports star.

But once the tape starts rolling it’s clear Ryan’s got more than just an exclusive on his mind… and he’s used to getting exactly what he wants.

Delving into the lives of those who live and work within the so-called Beautiful Game, ‘Striker’ is a story of sex, secrets and the true cost of fame.

Footballer’s Wives meets Jackie Collins in this sizzling scorcher of a read!

Thanks so much for joining us on this grand adventure we call Romancing September Across the World 2014 Blog Tour.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Stepping out of a hole…

It’s been such a wonderful September with the Romancing September Across the World with my friend across the pond, Rosie Amber. I’ve learned a lot from the different authors. It’s crazy how different all of us are, but in so many ways we’re the same. We all face the same hurdles and somehow we jump them and run toward the next one, but what happens when you jump one hurdle and fall in a hole on the other side?

I just recently released Emma Rose. It was a challenge to me for many reasons. If you’ve never written historically relevant material you might not understand this, but let me enlighten you. I’m constantly reaching for my timeline to keep dates correct and world happenings. You can’t put the cart before the horse so to speak. Well that wasn’t the only challenge with Emma Rose.

Emma Rose presented another problem. When I started out I was headed in a certain direction, but when I got to a crossroads I floundered, in exhaustion I went down the wrong road that took on another persona. I wasn’t happy, but I was too far in to go back, or was I? As I neared the words The End my heart kept telling me it was totally wrong. The story completely lost it’s meaning to me. I had jumped one hurdle and landed in a bottomless pit, falling into writer’s oblivion!

The Saturday before the release date on the upcoming Friday I took a leap that helped me to see the light at the top of that dark hole. I went back to where the story meant something, over thirty word document pages. I highlighted them and saved them in another file and then I did something drastic. I hit delete. As my finger hovered over that ominous black key I struggled with indecision, but finally did it. I deleted 5 whole chapters of a manuscript I’d stayed up late and got up early to finish before the deadline.

I sat for a long while staring at the void in my manuscript I’d just created. I know I saved it but that didn’t lesson my fear. I knew deep down that if I was planning to meet my deadline I had to get scrambling to repair the void. I stepped back, worked on something else that was going along pretty well.

When I came back two hours later it was clear. With determination and some fear I started that section over. The words flowed freely from me as they didn’t when I’d first worked on this section. The story became clear. No longer was it unfocused and dull, it was crisp and clear with a purpose that blowed me away. I knew where it had to go and when I did eventually type The End I was satisfied and teary eyed.

I’d jump a authors worst hurdle, fell in the dark hole and made my way out with exhuberance. It left me totally at peace with the decision and now I know that when it happens again, it’s for the best and just do it.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

A Jersey Kiss Georgina Troy - Author Pic

1) What inspired you to write this book?

I love reading romances and have wanted to write since I was seven when I was given a typewriter

from Santa. Jersey is a beautiful island with many small beaches, two castles, and a lot of history, so I

thought it would be an ideal setting for my books.

2) What’s your favourite part of this book and why?

I love Bea’s relationship with her best-friends, Paul and Shani and the fun they have together. I also

love Luke. There’s more to him than Bea realises, he’s tough, gorgeous and very determined.

3) What is your philosophy on writing and life?

I’m at my happiest when I’ve written at some point during the day. Even though I have a full life with a

large family and a wonderful partner, I love conjuring up fictional worlds of conflict and romance in a

beautiful setting. I also love introducing Jersey to those who’ve never been here and reminding those

who have how wonderful Jersey is.

4) Name your three favourite books that you’ve written — feel free to list buy links

I initially self-published A Jersey Kiss and the second book in the series, A Jersey Affair and these two

books, as well as two others, have been taken up by Accent Press. A Jersey Kiss is republished

today by Accent Press. They will be republishing A Jersey Affair soon.

5) What are your goals for this year?

To complete the third stand-alone novel in the Jersey Romance Series, A Jersey Dreamboat, which

Accent Press will publish in a few months and then write the fourth book in the series, A Jersey

Bombshell.

6) If you had to give one piece of advice what would it be?

Write. You can’t edit a blank page, you have to write something first. I suppose the most important

piece of advice is to simply keep writing; even when you think your work is rubbish. If you’ve written

something you’ll be able to edit and improve it.

Thanks so much for joining us on this grand adventure we call Romancing September Across the World 2014 Blog Tour.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Romancing September Across the World – Day 23 Mandy Baggot

Today my guest author is Mandy Baggot and I want to thank her for blogging with me today. Here is a little about her and her book Made in Nashville.

Made in Nashville MandyBaggot

1) What inspired you to write this book?

I’m a huge fan of country music and have been since my Grandad introduced me to it as a child. I also adore the TV show, Nashville. It was only a matter of time before that passion spilled over into my writing life.

2) What’s your favourite part of this book and why?

Without any doubt…my hero Jared Marshall. At the moment he is just my favourite hero of all time! He’s bad but he’s good. He bends the rules but you understand why. He’s passionate about everything he does, he’s a fighter, a survivor and of course he’s totally hot too!

3) What is your philosophy on writing and life?

Do everything with your heart 100% in it. That goes for writing and life. If you’re not fully committed to something it will show. Only write/do what you truly feel emotion for.

4) Name your three favourite books that you’ve written — feel free to list buy links

Made in Nashville  – because it combines my love of country music and my hottest hero! http://smarturl.it/buymadeinnashville

Security – because this is my first romantic suspense with a rough, tough and gorgeous hero. Think The Bodyguard meets 24. http://smarturl.it/buysecurity

Excess All Areas – because this was my very first novel and it’s set on the Greek island of Corfu which is like a second home to me. http://smarturl.it/excessallareas

5) What are your goals for this year?

This year, in May, I started working with an agent. The lovely Kate Nash from the Kate Nash Literary Agency is helping me plot my career path and we have plans for world domination LOL. I’d like to see a summer read out in 2015 with another out in the autumn. I’ve also got a couple of short story projects I’m working on with another team of writers. The main aim is to write more and keep on enjoying it!

 6) If you had to give one piece of advice what would it be?

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Enjoy life, enjoy your writing, word counts are only there as a guide, keep reading, love what you do, we’re all here for a good time not a long time! I have a feeling that was more than one piece of advice. Ooops!

Romancing September Across the World – Day 22 Lynn Montagano

Welcome to Day 22 of the 2nd Annual Romancing September Across The World Blog Tour. I’ve teamed up with Rosie Amber again this year. We’re promoting 30 awesome romance authors in 30 days. Help us out by cross promoting when you can and check out these authors.

Don’t forget to go over to Rosie Amber’s page and check out her page too.

Today my guest author is Lynn Montagano and I want to thank her for blogging with me today. Here is a little about her and her book Catch My Breath.

Catch My Breath Lynn Montagano

1) What inspired you to write this book?  I’m an avid traveller and love going to London. About eight years ago, my friend and I went to Glasgow. It was my first time there and I loved it. I’ve always had the idea to write a trans-Atlantic romance involving an American girl and a British guy, I just needed to find the perfect place to start their story. Once I went to Glasgow, I knew I had my beginning.

2) What’s your favourite part of this book and why?  When Lia and Alastair first meet. I loved the flirtatious dialogue between them mixed in with the hint of mystery Lia felt. It was a fun scene to write and really showed their connection.

3) What is your philosophy on writing and life?  I saw a quote recently that, I think, is a fitting answer to this question. I don’t remember who said it but it stuck with me: “There’s always something to write about. If there’s not, then you need to live life more aggressively.”

4) Name your three favourite books that you’ve written — feel free to list buy links.   Well, I’ve only ever written the three books in this series, so I’m going to say them! Catch My Breath, Unravel Me and Effortless were a real labor of love for me. I wrote them all out as one huge book and then separated them into the three distinct works they are now. This series will always be special for me because it was my first of (hopefully) many more to come.

Unravel Me: http://www.smarturl.it/UnravelMeUS

5) What are your goals for this year? Continue to write, get better at my craft and learn as much as I possibly can.

6) If you had to give one piece of advice what would it be?  Write everyday and write for yourself. The most important thing is to love what you’re writing.

Book bio/description:

Lia Meyers’ plan for a relaxing Scottish vacation is short-lived when one uncharacteristic moment of clumsiness lands her in the arms of a dangerously attractive Englishman.

The perfect opportunity for a much needed holiday romance? Wrong! Lia’s still reeling from the mother of all bad breakups, and she really doesn’t have the patience for Alastair Holden – despite his effortless charm and sexy British accent.

Arrogant and totally inscrutable, he’s exactly the sort of guy she wants to avoid but can’t: the man behind the mystery proves just too tempting to resist.

Drawn to him, Lia is forced to battle with her own insecurities, and the closer they become, the more she recognizes her own weaknesses as she peels away his layers with every night they spend together. Discovering the past Alastair is so desperate to conceal, Lia must decide if they can heal one another together or if their deepest fears will tear them apart.
