Monday Mystery Writing…

Photo by Johannes Plenio on Pexels.com

Can you believe it’s already February? And here in Georgia it’s cold and blustery! January seemed to fly by. Now you see it, now you don’t. It’s kind of like writing mystery romance. You may see it, but it may not be what it seems.

Since I’m writing a new series and it’s a suspenseful mystery, I thought I’d do a post on mystery writing. I was a little apprehensive of changing my genre slightly, but when your muse is headed down that road, you follow. And I’m delighted with this new road. It’s been so fun getting elbow deep in the mystery of this story line.

Now, writing mystery is a nail biter. You’ve got to keep up with all of the new leads, new evidence, and new elements of mystery that come into the story. It’s not unlike romance where you keep up with new happenings. But then again, it’s so different.

I wrote my first spine tingling scene and was so pumped when I finished that I went back and read it multiple times. There was a chill that went down my spine which had me smiling broadly. I think I may have found my new genre.

So, I hope you guys have an amazing Monday!

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

The last day of 2020…

Photo by Oleg Zaicev on Pexels.com

Happy New Year’s Eve everyone! This year has been so different from what we wished for only a year ago today. Life had changed for almost everyone and the way we do things is different. But life goes on and we have to make the best of every situation.

My writing has been going along fairly well, which is surprising to me. So many writers have said that this year has made them less productive. I’ve focused on the positive, giving someone else something to get lost in. Our goal as a writer is to entertain and make our fans feel as though they’ve been taken to another world, time, or place. That’s been my focus.

As I prepare to start 2021, there will be many changes coming. The new series, In Harm’s Way, will be one of those changes. It is something totally different from my normal sweet romance. The whole idea of the series is to help people find their faith even in a difficult time. And each one of the books explores a different type of disaster. It’s labeled a Christian Suspense Romance Series. I plan to take the reader on a journey of fear, love, faith, and excitement.

So, what are you doing to change things up for 2021?

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Monday Thoughts and Coffee…

Photo by Olenka Sergienko on Pexels.com

It’s the first Monday after Christmas and all through the house… Nope, not going there. My house is somewhat back to order, but still not back to normal.

Does anyone else struggle with what day it is after a long weekend? And this weekend will be another four day weekend, so the struggle is real. Although these two long weekends will be awesome since tax season starts next week, so I’ll need the time off to charge my batteries.

Now, on to writing thoughts. As I shared earlier, I have a new series coming in 2021. It’s a Christian Suspense Romance Series called In Harms Way. This is a step out of my comfort zone, but I’m excited for this new turn in my writing. And the covers are nothing short of amazing. Yes, all five books have covers already. I’ve got a short blurb ready for each one as well, which I’ll share a little bit along.

The first book, Safe, is set to release in March. This book has been on my mind for quite a while, so to be able to put it on paper is such a wonderful feeling. The main two characters each have their own issues. Hadley is a dedicated introvert. She is a homebody, only leaving to go to Church, the store, and when her agent requires it, to a book signing. As you may have guessed, she’s a writer. Her books have made her a nice, comfortable living, and have allowed her to stay in her shell. But her life is about to get a jolt of reality that she’s not prepared for.

Drew is a broody, partially retired Navy Seal, turned Wyoming rancher. He’s struggled to get out of the dark hole that war put him in, but ranching and fresh air have brought him a long way from his former self. Then he takes a trip to his hometown and ends up in the middle of a nightmare. When he tries to help, he only gets himself in deeper and the darkness threatens to swallow him back up. The moment he meets Hadley, he knows that he has to do everything in his power to save her, but she isn’t so sure.

This book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions as these two struggle with their own demons. But once they figure out that the only way out is together, they have to get past the things in their lives that make them who they are. It will have you cringing, gasping, sighing, then smiling and back to cringing. It’s a thriller that will have you guessing right up to the end.

So, let’s get this Monday started with a pot of coffee laced with cinnamon and a cool coffee mug. Did I tell you I’m obsessed with coffee mugs? Now you know…

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Cover Reveal for SAFE – Coming 2021

Good morning! When I say I’m excited about this new series, it doesn’t do it justice. This is something that’s out of my usual comfort zone. And it has me so engrossed that I’m having a hard time finishing the upcoming releases.

My normal writing is sweet, comforting, sometimes a little suspenseful romance. Well, get ready. Put your seat belt on and grab the ‘Oh crap handle’, because this is going to be totally different. And believe me when I say, it’s going to blow you away.

A little, itty bitty peek at the unfinished blurb:

Writing Christian romance was easy for Hadley. And that’s how she liked things, simple. But one wrong turn and she finds herself in the middle of a horror story. One that will change the way she looks at everything and everyone around her. If she lived through this, it would be a miracle. She had one chance at safety.

Drew left everything to find solace in Wyoming. His world had been filled with espionage, murder, and keeping the country safe as a member of an elite Navy Seal team. But now, all he wanted was peace. That would change in an instant with one phone call. Drew couldn’t go back to that life, but now he has no choice.

To get the job done, Drew has to dip into the darkest part of his soul. The part he’d locked away. The moment Hadley sets eyes on Drew, she isn’t sure which way to run, back toward the imminent danger or toward the man standing in front of her. Both can end her in the blink of an eye.

Hope you liked this little snippet and this cover reveal…

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Friday Sneak Peek…

Can you believe we made it to Friday? It’s been a long and crazy week. But here we are, Friday again…

So, as many of you know, I plan my books ahead of time. It just keeps me from going crazy. I have got a new series coming out in 2021 and there will be five books. My plan is to only publish those five, which is something I haven’t done in a while, publish that few books. But, this will be a longer more detailed series than I’ve ever written.

You may be asking, what is different about this new series. Well, it’s a Christian Suspense Romance series. I’m not ready to give you a look at the completed covers, which are amazing. I have the best cover designer. And I’m not ready to give you the titles or the series name. So, what is the post giving you a sneak peek of? Glad you asked…

I have two more books left in the schedule for 2020. One of them will actually come out in January, but it’s from my 2020 schedule. This has been an unusual year, and we’ll leave it at that. But it did a lot to my writing schedule that I had no control over.

Tomorrow is release day for Bay Street, the last book in the Wishful Harbor Series. And the first week of December will be the release of Wine, wedding, and The Cowboy, the last book in the Tangled Vines Series. Then last, but certainly not least, in January will be the release of Double Take At Mistletoe Ranch, the last book in my bestselling Mistletoe Ranch Series. That’s a lot of series to close out, but with the new series coming out, I needed some closure.

In the coming weeks, I’ll be releasing a little bit about each of the five new books coming out in 2021. Let’s just say, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone with these. It will take a lot out of me, mentally. But I’m so excited about it. This series has been coming to me for a couple of years, but I just wasn’t ready to do it. Now I am. So keep watching for exciting news to come.

As always, Good Writing and May God Bless You…

I’ll leave you will the last three covers of this writing year!
