Let the light in…

road-sun-rays-path.jpg

Good Tuesday morning! Grab a cup of coffee and settle in for a beautiful morning!

After a short stint of writer’s block, the words are flowing in. As I told you in a previous post, the outlining part of Scrivener has helped. I’m keeping my focus and know where the story is going. Actually, the process is making it flow faster than ever. Not to mention, I’m not straying off on little detours that will derail the story.

I feel like the light has been let in and everything is clear. It’s a great feeling and I can’t wait to share this story with everyone. So, have you let the light shine in on your story yet. Tell me about your breakthroughs in writing.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

It’s Friday!

Good Friday morning! Wow, what a busy week. I’m so ready for the weekend, even though I’ll be in my accounting office most of it, but sleeping late in the morning is on my schedule.

The weather here in Georgia is fabulous at the moment and totally out of season, but I’m not complaining. It does make it hard to stay inside the office when the sun is shining and the days are warm. I keep telling myself that I live in Georgia and that means winter is not over yet. Hoping winter doesn’t come back in like a lion…

So, what are your plans this weekend? Any writing in those plans? If you’re like me, there’s always writing in your plans 😉

So, good writing and May God Bless You…

Coffee, Books, and Romance…

pexels-photo-302810.jpeg

Good morning! We’re halfway to the weekend and that’s awesome. This has been a busy week so far, so I’m looking forward to diving into the weekend with some much-needed writing so I can get lost for just a little while.

As I sip my coffee, my mind is on all the things I’d like to accomplish today. Is there writing on that list? Well, I try to get in as much writing as I can each day, but some days, a few promotional posts and such are all I can fit in during tax season.  But I’m hoping to catch a few minutes of mind cleansing writing.

A fan asked me a question a few days ago and I’ve been wondering how to answer it. Her question was, ‘How do you stay focused on just writing Romance?’. Well, let’s see… For one thing, I love romance and everything about it. There’s so much you can do with romance writing. It’s my favorite genre to read also, which makes it an easier niche for me. But, think about it, in romance novels you can add elements of mystery, the paranormal, humor, history, real life, etc. The list goes on as to where you can go with romance. Actually, it’s endless.

A romance novel can be in any era because there’s always been romance somewhere. So, to me, it makes the best writing genre in my mind. But, I love romance. If you love mystery or horror, well, that could be the best writing genre for you. My philosophy is this, write what you love, it helps keep the words flowing.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

P.S.: Here’s another look at the amazing cover of my upcoming release, ‘Beyond One Moment’. Yes, I’m a little in love with it.

Saturday morning bliss…

Good morning! I thought Saturday would never get here. It’s been busy, but a productive week. One week ago I started a new chapter in this thing we call life. I was tired of being tired. For the last couple of months I’ve been struggling to make my word counts, but now, well I’m exceeding them and the brain fog is clearing out.

I’ve been working on my Christmas romance that should’ve been finished two weeks ago, but with the brain fog, I wasn’t up to my potential. Now, that’s all changed. I’m making up for the lost time and adding the words I’ve missed. I can’t wait for the release of this sweet romance. It will have you singing Jingle Bells and wanting to go out and deck the halls.

As for my health, I started using the Thrive system last week and I’m amazed at the results in just a week. My energy is coming back and my concentration is where it needs to be. Oh and all of you know how much I love my coffee, well, I’m down to one and a half cups a day, Amazing! With all this energy, I might finish next years Christmas book by Easter!

So, what do you guys have planned for today? Me, I’m getting my house in order, then helping get our Church ready for the Fall Festival that’s happening tomorrow. But I will be getting in my extra word count this afternoon.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Three cups & a book…

Good Thursday morning! I do hope you’re all well…

This morning I’m working on the outline for the 2nd book in the Wishful Harbor Series. It’s exciting when you start a new manuscript, but it’s scary too! As a writer, you want to pull the reader in with the first paragraph, but what if you don’t? Publishing your work is scary, but satisfying when you see the sales and responses from readers.

As I outline, I have a bad habit of writing instead of outlining. Yep, some of my outlining will be used in the actual book because I get carried away, but that’s fine. One thing that helps is I use Scrivener, so I can set up my chapters and copy/paste the part I love that will go in the book. Yep, another win for Scrivener.

But, along with writing, I have to grab another cup of coffee to keep me going. So, I’d best get back to finishing this outline and getting another cup of coffee.

So, great writing and May God Bless You…

Pumpkin Spice, Grey’s & Outlander, Oh my!

Good Friday morning everyone! Smile people, the weekend is almost upon us. This has been a crazy week, well, actually it’s been a crazy couple of weeks. Sorry, I’ve been a little awol, but life sometimes takes over along with two books that need finishing…

Oh, yeah, not to mention that two of my favorite shows had their season premieres. Yes, I’m talking Grey’s Anatomy and Outlander. No, I’m not doing any spoilers here, so don’t be afraid to read on. Last but not least, pumpkin spice everything is back. And if you’ve followed my blog for any amount of time, you know how happy that makes me.

As I sit here, sipping my pumpkin spice flavored coffee and watching the newest episode of Grey’s Anatomy, I’m noticing that it is still dark at 6:47 here in Georgia. Although Fall is one of my favorite seasons, I don’t enjoy the dark mornings. It makes it hard to wake up. I’m not a morning person, to begin with, but I do need the sun to get my eyes open. Of course, the older I get, the earlier my body wants to get up.

So, what’s your favorite pumpkin spice flavored thing?

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Monday’s are hard…

Good morning folks! Was the weekend short for you too? Wow, it flew by. Oh well, let’s start the week with a smile. Well, maybe I need a couple of cups of coffee before the smile fully arrives.

My weekend was busy with all the promoting of Breakwater Lane which is officially coming out August 31st. Also, I’ve been working on the finishing touches before it goes to my editor.

So, what was your weekend filled with? Are you promoting, writing or both?

By the way, I’m looking for reviewers and bloggers interested in doing a post or a review for Breakwater Lane. If you’re interested, just give me a message. Will be more than happy to return the favor…

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Don’t forget to get the first chapter of Breakwater Lane, go to my website and join my Street Team.

Coffee…Writing…More Coffee

Good morning! Are any of you having a hard time getting awake this morning? I’m struggling after the three day weekend. It was a great holiday, but my body and mind seem to still be on vacation.

Oh well, this will be a pot of coffee morning…. I’m working on getting my word count in this morning. I finished Highlander’s Son last week and hope to finish Lacey’s Choice this week. Both of these books have been in the works for a couple of months, so I’m trying my best to get caught back up. Tax season really slammed me this year and it affected my writing like no other year has.

It doesn’t help that my two new series ‘Sky Ridge’ and ‘Wishful Harbor’ are knocking on my mind, wanting to stay inside. Every time I push them back for a day or so, they jump back in with full force and win. But this week, I plan to finish a couple of in-process manuscripts before I go back to the newest ones. Let’s just hope I do.

So, what are you working on this week?

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Proud mama!

It’s Graduation Day! As I sit here, sipping my coffee, I can’t believe that I have a son ready to graduate from high school. Where have the years gone? The memories flood in and the tears slowly roll down my cheek, but I’m so happy for him. He’s about to embark on a whole new chapter in his life. It’s scary for all of us, but I know he’s got what it takes to be all he wants to be.

So, to all of those graduating today, good luck and May God Bless all of your endeavors!

Monday Morning…Not Ready Yet!

Good morning… Wow, 6:15 came early this morning. I had a busy weekend and that makes for a groggy Monday morning. But, I still plan on getting in at least 2000 words before I go to my day job.

I worked on three of my manuscripts yesterday, getting ahead on one that I’d been stumped on. Thankfully I rounded the corner and the story opened up in my mind. So, Highlander’s Son will be out soon. Of course, it is a novella to finish out the series, but for those that have been asking, yes, it’s coming before the end of May!

As for my other works in progress, they’re coming soon also. Lacey’s Choice is coming along great,  and Promises Forgotten is totally outlined and ready to get going. As for the others in process, I’ve put them on the back burner until these three are completed and in my editor’s hands.

So, what are you working on this morning?

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…
