Setting music to your work…

pexels-photo-953213.jpeg

Good morning! It’s been a while, but I have a great reason… Tax Season. But, I’m on the last leg of the first part.

So, as I was working last night, my Pandora was playing movie love songs. I tried to name the movie for each score that played. Then I thought about how powerful each song was to the movie. Actually, in my opinion, some of the music made the movies seem better. The music gave the parts so much power, more inspiring or just more emotionally charged.

Maybe you’re wondering why I’m talking about this, well, wouldn’t it be cool if we could input music into our manuscripts? Of course, like most of you, I have music playing in the background as I write, but if we could put music into our audio books, wouldn’t that be something?

And yes, we put music into our book trailers, which adds that pull. Think about how it would be added to our ebooks in certain spots? It would be amazing…

Ok, so that’s my crazy rambling for this cool, southern Monday. Since I only have two more days left in tax season, I’ll be back to regular posting soon.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Mondays, Memories…Coffee!

Good Monday morning! Why are Monday’s so hard? I think somehow the weekends have grown shorter or is that just me?

Yesterday, I took a short walk outside. It was short due to the high pollen count outside. My allergies are not fans of pollen. But, anyhow, as I walked I saw the two things in the pictures above. As a country girl, these two items are part of my pleasant childhood memories. The dandelions were fun to blow on, sending the little fluffy white seeds floating into the sky, of course as children, we didn’t know we were spreading the flowers everywhere. Then, of course, there were mad searches in among the patches of clover for the elusive 4-leaf clover. I’ve found a couple in my lifetime, which usually ended in a wish. But the memories are heartwarming. It makes me sad that children today, for the most part, don’t take part in this kind of fun.

Several of you have emailed me, asking about my latest manuscript. Well, I can tell you that the first half is in the capable hands of my editor. I’m working on the second half, which is exciting. As you know, I outline, so I’m seeing the ending coming and all I can say is, it’s different from anything I’ve published thus far. So, keep watching for release dates and snippets, which are coming…

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

P.S.: It’s Monday, so grab an extra cup of coffee for the road.

Monday’s are hard…

monday

Good morning folks! Was the weekend short for you too? Wow, it flew by. Oh well, let’s start the week with a smile. Well, maybe I need a couple of cups of coffee before the smile fully arrives.

My weekend was busy with all the promoting of Breakwater Lane which is officially coming out August 31st. Also, I’ve been working on the finishing touches before it goes to my editor.

So, what was your weekend filled with? Are you promoting, writing or both?

By the way, I’m looking for reviewers and bloggers interested in doing a post or a review for Breakwater Lane. If you’re interested, just give me a message. Will be more than happy to return the favor…

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Don’t forget to get the first chapter of Breakwater Lane, go to my website and join my Street Team.

Monday, Coffee and a book…

Good Monday morning! I don’t know about all of you, but I could’ve used one more day in the weekend. Funny thing, I had planned to get some work done in the office and write at least 5000 words over the weekend. Did I meet my goal? Well, I got some work done, but not the word count. My weekend word count was pitiful…

For some reason, my writer-brain was on vacation this weekend. But as I went about cleaning house, working on tax returns and going about the business of life, my mind was on my current manuscript. I went over scenes in my head, but couldn’t make myself sit down at my laptop and write it down. Why? I have no clue. I wouldn’t call it writer’s block. Actually, I don’t know what to call it, but I hear a lot of other writers complain of this.

So, as I write this post, I’m preparing for my writing binge this morning before I go to the office. I’m working on my second cup of coffee and then I’ll grab a third just to make sure my brain is awake and what I write will make sense.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

P.S.: Don’t forget to grab a copy of ‘Promises Made’. It’s up and running… https://www.amazon.com/Promises-Made-Sky-Ridge-Book-ebook/dp/B06W9LDLV7 You’ll fall in love with Nash and Joy!

Monday after Christmas…

Good morning! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. As for me, it was awesome. But I do have to confess that I’m glad it’s over. Now don’t get me wrong, I love being with friends and family, but I love when things get back to normal.

I’ve heard so many writers telling this weekend that their writing time suffered during the holidays and I know that for myself. I’m behind on my current work in progress, but hopefully somewhere in between IRS testing that has to be done by midnight the 31st and cleaning up Christmas decorations, I’ll get caught up! It may take a lot of coffee…

So, how was your Christmas holiday?

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Foggy morning in Georgia…

It’s Monday… That’s enough to say about that! LOL! Monday is Monday, plain and simple.

Tuscany is coming in 12 days… The dream that was born in 2015 is finally becoming a reality. When I sat down to type the first word of this book, it was with a happy and excited heart. This story had pulled at me for years, but nothing fell together, until that morning that I woke with the story fully in my head.

This story fell into place like a well-known puzzle, one that had been put together several times and could be completed with little effort. It was like I was filled with the story from Tuscany. As I researched Tuscany, I could see the scenes playing out in the pictures of the beautiful places that I saw.

But now, that story gets to told over and over as readers eyes scanned the words and fall in love with Tuscany as I did. Each reader will fall in love with Romeo and Lana. They’ll fall in love with Olive Hill and want to go there. With each word they read, I hope they’ll see the love that fills every one of them. Love’s Legacy…

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Dust Bunnies of the brain…

23807288069_3da340bf5b_m

It’s Monday folks! Does your brain feel like this dust filled pan? Mine does. I actually timed my writing this morning so that I did my allotted work before I attacked social media. But wouldn’t it be nice if we could pull out a pan from our brain and clear the dust and cobwebs?

I have several exciting announcements coming up in the next couple of days and weeks. Along with some preorders going up and then a series announcement that has me excited, I’ll be doing a cover reveal for a couple of upcoming books.

If anyone is interested in helping me make these announcements, especially the cover reveals, just let me know. I want to get the word out, far and wide. I’m just bowled over with excitement about the new covers for the works in progress. When you see them, you’ll understand what I’m talking about.

So, how’s your Monday so far? Here’s to hoping it’s great…

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Coffee, I need more coffee…

6966818869_b6d7e9fb3c

It’s too early to be Monday! I know, it’s a holiday and my son is out of school, so why am I up this early. Well, my internal clock refuses to sleep past seven. So, I’m up and writing already. Of course I do have to go to the office in a couple of hours. It’s tax season, so I have to work.

I’m already on my second cup of coffee. The first cup was just a primer of sorts. It’s dreary and cold outside. So my body is in denial about being awake, which makes it hard to get going.

To make things more interesting, as I opened my calendar of release dates, need to be at the editor dates, and all my writing deadlines, I panicked. Being the  smart girl I am, and use that term loosely, I looked at this weeks writing agenda, then panicked. Of course, since I’m not completely awake, I looked at next week, not this week. Let’s just say I broke out in a cold sweat thinking I had to turn in Lily to my editor.

Then, finally, I realized that today is the 15th, not the 22nd. To say I was relieved is putting it lightly. I almost shouted, because adding over 8000 words to my already crazy word count this week would be brutal, to say the least.

So, how’s your Monday so far? I know several of you are already deep into this day, so has it been a typical Monday or extraordinary one?

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Monday!

SYTYCW15 AD

Monday… Yep it will be Monday all day. I’m working on my second cup of coffee and still not feeling it. This week is d-day for tax returns and I’m in fast forward. It’s also the last few days to get votes for my entry in Harlequin’s Writing contest. So my mind is running around bumping into walls and going nuts.

I’m doing halfway decent in the voting. Right now I’m still short some votes to stay in the Top 25, so if you’re in the mood to give me a vote and share with friends, please do. It would be great to get to the Top 25, but even if I don’t, I’m still honored to have been chosen for the Top 55.

Try to make the most of your Monday and hope you have a great one.

As always, good writing and may God Bless You…

Monday, Monday, Monday

As I sit here sipping my 2nd cup of coffee trying to get my eyes to stay open, I notice the clouds moving in. Yep, we’re expecting rain here in the south today. I had a busy but wonderful weekend. Saturday was the Easter Egg hunt at our Church. That was really fun, but lots of work. It was worth it. Then yesterday was my hubby’s birthday. Also after Church several members (including my family) got the sanctuary ready for Easter and the Spring season. Considering our Church is three stories, yep I got my exercise. No need to work out today.

For all my American friends tomorrow is the last day of non extension tax season. That means I’ll be slammed with tax work today and tomorrow, but I’m taking the last three days of this week off. I plan to get some writing in that has been put to the wayside for the last couple of weeks.

This is a reminder to all my writer friends. Make sure that you claimed your royalties and the expenses that you had. Don’t forget all those advertising sites, production fees, programs purchased to help with your writing, computers and printers, website fees, dues and subscription fees for all those sites you joined, and the many more expenses we writers incur in a year. If you received a 1099 for your royalties, don’t ignore them because the IRS won’t.

Hope everyone has a blessed Monday and don’t forget to smile today, it’s your day so make it over the moon!

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…
