Monday afternoon slump…

Anyone else in the Monday afternoon slump? I’m thinking it’s coffee-thirty.

Why is it that around 3pm you feel drained and don’t think you’ll make it another hour? And that’s not just on Monday’s. But, think about this – Do you do that on the weekend? Most likely not!

Here’s to coffee-thirty!

A little Monday Motivation…

monday

Good morning all! Yeah, I know, it’s Monday… I’m not ready to start the day yet, but my office won’t run itself, so…

Ok, so, you need some Monday Motivation. Here goes… As a writer, you have a story to tell. It fills your head and makes you crazy. The story wreaks havoc on every other part of your day, but, I have good news. Even if you can’t figure out the whole story just yet, it helps to just go ahead and put it on paper. If you at least let the characters talk for a little while, they’ll leave you alone for a few minutes.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Monday Morning…Not Ready Yet!

Good morning… Wow, 6:15 came early this morning. I had a busy weekend and that makes for a groggy Monday morning. But, I still plan on getting in at least 2000 words before I go to my day job.

I worked on three of my manuscripts yesterday, getting ahead on one that I’d been stumped on. Thankfully I rounded the corner and the story opened up in my mind. So, Highlander’s Son will be out soon. Of course, it is a novella to finish out the series, but for those that have been asking, yes, it’s coming before the end of May!

As for my other works in progress, they’re coming soon also. Lacey’s Choice is coming along great,  and Promises Forgotten is totally outlined and ready to get going. As for the others in process, I’ve put them on the back burner until these three are completed and in my editor’s hands.

So, what are you working on this morning?

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Monday morning writing…

It’s the Monday after the Super Bowl and everyone is sluggish and sleepy. Some are grumpy, and some are smiling broadly. I’m not a huge football fan, but since Georgia had a team in it, I watched some of it. Of course, my son and hubby watched the whole thing.

Oh well, on to writing. I’ve been working on ‘Promises Made’, the first book in the Sky Ridge Series. It’s a sweet story of how love comes in when you least expect it and sweeps you off your feet. As the series progresses, there will be trials and tribulations. Things will not always be as they seem.

I love writing historical romance. There are so many aspects of history that can be delved into. The research is fascinating and gives me ideas for more stories, so it’s a win-win!

I hope everyone is having a fabulous Monday…

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Monday Morning Writing

Well it’s Monday again! Were you ready for it? Me, well not so much, but it’s a fact that it comes every week. Some Mondays I do better than others. This morning is cloudy and dreary yet again and I’m sleepy, but work beckons and it’s the start of my busy season. The reason for my grogy ramblings is I sat up way too late last night writing. I guess you could say it’s a writers lot to be sleepy and have blood shot eyes on Monday morning.

I couldn’t pull myself away from the current WIP. It’s funny how a story gets under your skin and you just have to get past a certain point before you pull away. I know other writers know this feeling. You know the point where you can stop but until you get to that point you don’t have the courage to stop. Does this sound obsessive, well maybe so? Writers are often carried away into obsession and that’s what makes a good writer.

Someone once asked me where all my stories come from. They often laugh and say that I must lead a very colorful life to bring about so many stories with vibrancy and life. I live my life just as anyone, well I guess that’s true. A writer’s mind goes beyond that of someone that doesn’t have writing in them. I can look at the simplest object and spin a story around it. A writer’s mind is constantly working on over load. Sometimes I think my mind actually spins around like a top.

As for the unfinished manuscript I found the other day, well I’ve been spinning this one in my head, but I’ve put it to the wayside. I remember somewhat the path I was headed in with it, but it just doesn’t feel right at the moment. For me, and I’ve talked to other writers about this, if the story is not with you, it’s best to put it down and come back a little later. Unfortunately that happens in series too. You finish book one or two and when you start the next part and it totally goes out of the realm.

So, how’s your Monday going? As for me I’d love to get some love over at Twitter or Facebook. Come by and follow me on either one. I’m trying to get over the Twitter hump per say. Also, I’d love to have some likes or follows on Facebook. Let’s put our heads together and have a follow Monday.

Monday morning ramblings…

Well it was a busy weekend for me. Our Church put together showboxes for the local Family Children Service and then yesterday I had the Children’s Ministry Christmas party. Which this meant that I had to start my Christmas baking. I baked cookies, made rice krispy treats and smores. Not to mention red velvet and cream cheese bites. Needless to say it was a busy weekend.

As I sat yesterday afternoon just enjoying being with my family and having nothing at all to do, I received a call. It was my cousin calling to tell me a friend of ours has cancer. It was hard to hear. I’ve known him all my life and we’ve always been friends. It’s always hard to hear that word ‘cancer’. I prayed for him and knew he was in good hands.

My writing has been in the forefront of my mind lately. I have a couple of books in the works and am impatient to get them completed. I guess that’s just the life of a writer. I have to keep my focus on the writing instead of the finish. If I focus on the finish too much my writing will lack some of it’s luster. I don’t want to rush through the last couple of chapters.

I don’t know how one of the books will end exactly. Most of my books I have them mapped out in my mind and usually have a good idea how they’ll end, but this one book has changed as it has unfolded. As each chapter develops and the characters get their chance at the story it’s changed and evolved. I’m happy with the many changes, but am anxious to see it to the end.

Several fans are chomping at the bit for the 2nd book in the Alpine series. It was such an exciting book to write. I can’t wait to get started on it. All of my books are on sale for .99 until December 26th. I want to do this as a thanks to all my devoted and beloved fans. It’s been an awesome year for me and my writing.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Monday Night and all is well with the World!

Well, the 4th novel is being shined and polished. I feel really good about this one.

Hope to have it published this week. It has been a good Monday. I even found time

to make homemade vegetable soup. That’s right, homemade. My husband and teenage son

were impressed.

Hope all of you have a wonderful Monday night! Don’t worry, the weekend is only four days away, that is after midnight tonight!
