Best Assistant…

kaleigh

Good Saturday morning everyone! Hope you’re having a good start to the weekend. Today’s post is about my writing and accounting assistant, Kaleigh.

Some of you, especially if you’re part of my street team, have met her through posts. She’s the person in the background that takes care of my website, my covers, my book designs and my sanity. It helps that she’s my niece, so she has a little of me running through her veins.

Kaleigh attends the University of Georgia and is finishing up her Poultry Science degree. I’ve had her with me again for the last three weeks, but sadly yesterday was the last day at the office for us for a while. But she takes care of me from afar, somebody has to.

She is the one that keeps me grounded, reminding me of release dates, word counts and such. A lot of times she has to get stern with me when it comes to my manuscripts. When she sees something that doesn’t work, she’ll tell me, but sometimes I push back. But in the end, we compromise and make the changes needed. Another issue will be sayings I use or names that make her laugh and shake her head, telling me no I can’t do that.

Everyone needs an assistant like her, because it makes things easier. I probably don’t tell her enough, but I appreciate everything she does to keep me on the right track.

Take the time this weekend to enjoy yourself. We’re not promised tomorrow.

As always, good writing and may God Bless You…

This is to all the Mother’s out there.

This is to all the Mother’s out there. Hope you have a wonderful day today as you deserve it. My son was quick to hug me this morning and tell me thank you. Of course it brought on the tears. Then at Church our wonderful Pastor talked about Mother’s and their role in our lives. It was quite eye opening and honest. My hubby put his arm around me and squeezed my shoulder. Yep, I shed a tear or two. Bet you knew that already 🙂

It’s been a great day so far. My family met at a restaurant with a buffet and we ate until we were miserable then we went back to my mom’s to eat dessert. How you may ask? Well it’s Mother’s Day and I’m going to enjoy it.

My son asked what I was going to do on this beautiful Mother’s Day and I told him maybe a nap and then work on one of my manuscripts. Also I’m going to admire the beautiful pot of flowers my hubby and son gave me. I picked them out, but it’s the thought that counts.

If you’re mother is still living then make sure if you don’t see her today at least call her because you wouldn’t be here without her. She wiped your nose, changed your diapers, put bandaids on your cuts and nursed you when you were sick. She deserves some respect and show of love. SO if you haven’t called her or been to visit shame on you. It only takes a moment out of your busy schedule to make a call and just say ‘Mom I love you and thank you for everything.” It’s real simple. So just do it.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY…

As always good writing and May God Bless you…

As we give THANKS!

Well, today is Thanksgiving. It’s a day to remember all that we’re thankful for. Even if you are not American you can be thankful for something. Let’s breakdown the word Thanksgiving. First you have Thanks, which is what most people do on Thanksgiving, unfortunately that is the only day some people are thankful. The second part is giving. So today give thanks and be giving in nature. Help those that are less fortunate or those that just need a hug or kind word.

I always try to watch the Macy’s parade in bits and pieces. I sneak peaks in between cooking. I made my cream pumpkin pies last night. Today I am responsible for peas, broccoli casserole, and deviled eggs to take to my mother in laws fora traditional Thanksgiving feast and my mom is having homemade brunswich stew and barbeque (Yum), so all I had to do for this is pie, buns, and chips. I miss my Dad dearly. This is our 6th Thanksgiving without him.

As I cook the dishes I will take to lunch with my in laws and dinner with my mom I am thankful to have the food to cook. So many today are hungry and cold. As we sit down to eat way too much food be thankful for the bounty before you. Look around the table and thank each one for something. Even that weird family member that annoys you, thank them for something.

So to all my wonderful cyber friends, thanks for the many posts, likes and comments. It has been such a wild and fun ride. I look forward to many more posts.

As always, good writing and May God bless and keep you…
