Bucket List… What’s on yours?

Wow, it’s already Thursday. Not to mention I turned 52 today. When did that happen? Since I’m talking about time flying, my bucket list is getting yellow and foggy. Let’s see what is left on that old list.

1: Go to Montana – Still working on that one. But one day I’ll make that dream come true…

2: Become a published author – I made this dream come true in 2012 and have never looked back!

3: Own a horse ranch – Look, a girl can dream. This may never happen, but it will stay on this list.

4: Own a Baby Grand piano – I spent 8 years learning classical piano, so yeah, it’s still on the list.

5: Own a business – Checked this one off in 1996! Started an accounting business and it’s been awesome.

6: Take a trip to Tuscany – Well, I haven’t physically been to Tuscany, but in my writing, I feel like I’ve been there. One day!

7: Marry the man of my dreams – I accomplished this in 1994 when I married my wonderful, handsome husband.

8: Have children – This came true in 1999 when I was blessed with an amazing son.

Well, I could go on and on, but my list is pretty long. I add to it every year. As you can see, I’ve made some come to life, and others will come one day. Or so I hope. But it never hurts to dream… Dreams can come true if you truly believe!

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

PS – Here’s how I went to Tuscany!

45 years of Blessings…

Many people try to ignore birthdays. For me I’m so blessed with each year I’m given. The fact that I got up this morning is a blessing in itself. I have so much to be thankful for.

This morning I woke to my wonderful husband and son wishing me a Happy Birthday. Then when I opened my computer my email was blowing up with Birthday wishes from family, friends and fans. It’s amazing the support I’ve received from my family, friends and my adoring fans.

The Birthday wishes have been coming in from all over and it’s such a blessing. My writing has been a blessing and to be able to publish my long, hard work. It’s been a dream of mine since I was a teenager and guess what, I’m a published author. This blessing has gained me so many new friends and I’ve met some great authors that I’ve been reading for years. It’s been such an awesome time.

So many don’t realize their blessings. They leave them in a closet somewhere and refuse to acknowledge them. Blessings are meant to be acknowledged, appreciated and thankful for. But most of all they are meant to be passed on to others. It’s like the Christmas Spirit should be kept in your heart 365 days a year. Celebrate life daily and be glad for every minute in our short lives. That’s why all my books are .99 through Christmas. I want to give something back to my readers.

Have a wonderful day and know I’m passing on my blessings and well wishes for you all.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Friday night and smiling :)

Well I made it through another week. Thanks to all the well wishes I’ve received. I’m feeling much better, but still a little stuffy. I’m excited for the weekend. Not planning much of anything but some time for myself somehow among the  tax returns, my son’s shot gun practice and house cleaning.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday night and remember to smile. It’s the weekend and God has given us in Georgia a beautiful weekend. Get out and enjoy the outdoors if you can.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Life: You’re the Author

In life we write our own stories. We determine how our life goes. God created us, but he gave us life choices. How do we choose? Which road do we go down? Is grass and dirt starting to take over your road?

In life we make the decisions that take us to the next part. Decisions we make mark the future for us. If you decide to drink and drive you’re deciding your life book could end on the drive home. If you decide not to take the job offer and then find out there’s nothing else available, then you made that decision to stay unemployed. (Sometimes that’s the best road to take.)

As an author I’ve thought about the life I’m writing for myself. Do I want to get to the end of my life and look back only to wonder what I accomplished? No, I believe in taking the bull by the horns and stepping out on faith. It’s just like a review on a book. Do you give your life a 5 star rating or does it fall flat at 1 or less?

Think of your life as a book you’re going to sell. Would you want to read about your life? Have you done anything remotely special? We all have moments in our life that are spectacular. Those moments can include marriage, the birth of your child, and vacations. But what about the in between moments.

My challenge to you is to live life. Experience the moment. Don’t let life come to a close without enjoying what God has given you. Go ahead, write the great american novel, or try to. At least you can say I tried. Don’t come to the end and say I wish I would have…

As always good writing and May God bless you in all you decide to do in life. Remember to keep Him in your life and all will go well. 🙂

A Child’s Wish Becomes a Woman’s Dream…

As a child you wish upon a star. “I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish, I wish tonight.” Have you ever thought about those childhood wishes. Well I was reminded this weekend of some of my wishes as a child.

The first wish as a child was to be a concert pianist, which I studied music for eight years in order to make that wish come true. I wished on every star that I would play at Carnegie Hall and study at a top music school. I did get offered the chance at a full music scholarship, but I was engaged at the time and I turned it down. Thought my parent’s would kill me. By the way, I never married that man. I live my music dreams through my child. He has self taught himself to play drums, electric guitar and bass. My husband sings in the praise band at Church and plays guitar. So proud of both of them.

The second wish was to be a rancher and own as many horses as I could get. I even took riding lessons. Well, this too came to pass me on. I still love horses as anyone who reads my books soon find out. I also have horses everywhere in my house, so I am surrounded by one of my childhood dreams. If I ever make it big with my writing I plan to own horses, so that is still in the cards for my life, God willing.

The third wish was to be a writer. My grandfather used to hold me in his lap and tell me that he wanted me to be a journalist. He said I could spin a story out of anything. Well, that started me writing many of my manuscripts back when I was a teenager. I gave up on that dream when I started college and found out that I was enamored by accounting.

Well the Lord works in mysterious ways. It has taken almost twenty five years from the first manuscript to decide to publish, but it has been a wish upon a star that evolved into a dream come true. Through my writing I live the wishes and dreams of my childhood. It can be the channel to your dreams. As a writer I can own horses and be a concert pianist. Through writing I can be who ever I want to be and so can you. As a reader you can get lost in another world and live another life. But remember to come back to reality because God gave you the life you live and it can be wonderful, you just have to live it.

So, as I close this post I leave with you the wishes of a child that turned to the dream of a woman. Step out of your comfort zone and live. That first step is hard, but you can do it. Have a wonderful Monday and a blessed day!
