It’s hard to believe that I’m finishing the last book of the Wishful Harbor Series. I’ve enjoyed every moment of writing this series. The characters will always hold a special place in my heart. And the town of Wishful Harbor will draw me in and send me on a journey where the scent of sea air and the sound of sea gulls overhead fill the air.
Saying goodbye to anything isn’t easy. In life, there’s so many things we have to say goodbye to. But with a book series, even though the series has come to a close, the books will be there to read over and over. The memories will be there too.
Over the years of my writing career, I’ve said goodbye to many series. The Five Oaks Ranch Series is still one of my bestselling series and it continues to gain momentum. I’ve had so many people write to me about adding more books to that series. Maybe one day, but for now, it’s just a dream…
In January I’ll publish the last Mistletoe Ranch book. And I just published the last book from The Journal Series. With each new series, there has to be an end. New things need to start and life goes on. But the memories will forever be there along with the laughter, tears and thought that went into each word.
Starting in 2021 I’ll be starting a whole new series, one that will pull everything out of me. I’m so excited about it. I’ve not spoken much about it, but in the coming weeks, I’ll post some snippets and info on it. But for now, let’s just say, 2021 will be filled with mystery, intrigue, and romance.
For now, I’ll go back to my writing and the cup of coffee that’s growing cool. But I’ll ask one question, how do you handle saying goodbye?
Good morning! Yes, I’m sitting here, procrastinating by the Christmas tree. I blame it on the Christmas season and that’s all there is to it. Well, maybe not all there is… I’m working on the 3rd book of the Wishful Harbor series and my mind keeps drifting to the Hallmark movie that’s on, then the Christmas shopping I need to do, and oh, let’s don’t forget the work in my office that needs tending to.
But, the characters keep slipping into my daydreams, telling me to get to work so they can tell their story. Yeah, they are quite bossy. Of course, as I sit here, fingers hovered over the keyboard, the excitement of a new story fills my heart. In the coming weeks there will be a cover reveal, a snippet here and there, then when the time is right, I’ll reveal the release date.
So, on to the procrastinating, um, I mean writing 😉
Good morning! It’s my favorite time of year when our tree is up, the fire is crackling and there’s a chill in the air. And of course, we’ve already gotten a little snow here in Georgia and on my birthday weekend, so that’s awesome.
My Wishful Harbor Series is something I’ve dreamed of doing for a long time and now the 2nd book in the series is out, which makes me so happy. This book is a sweet romance that is filled with mystery, old crushes, and the spirit of Christmas in a small town.
So, if you need something to read when you are sitting by your Christmas tree or even by a crackling fire, then grab a copy today. For the first-week release celebration, I’m keeping it at .99!
Good Saturday morning! I hope all of you had a great Thanksgiving. Mine was wonderful. Now the Christmas season is officially in full swing, which excites me. This is my favorite time of year.
As for words, sometimes as a writer, the words are slow to come. It’s the dreaded ‘writer’s block’ that every writer fears. That happened this month with my Christmas book that’s being released in a very, very short time. The words were there, then I developed a horrible cold, needing medication which made my head go fuzzy. Well, the words came to a halt.
I sat with my fingers hovered over the keyboard, trying to form the story that was inside my head. I could see it, hear the characters screaming, but for some reason, the words wouldn’t come out of my fingers onto the screen. It can get frustrating when you’re up against a deadline and the words just seem to be within reach, but won’t come.
But then, as I lay awake, coughing like a crazy person, it all flowed in like a wave of a storm. The areas that I was unsure of, came rushing in. That’s when another problem reared its ugly head, I couldn’t type fast enough and my time became limited, with holiday preparations and life. But now, it’s on the page and almost ready for release day. Some stories come in like a lion, then others hold back, waiting until just the right moment to stream in.
The funny thing is, if I’d rushed the story, it wouldn’t be what it is. This story is such a sweet story and I know that taking the time to listen to my characters and taking a short break helped build the story.
Good morning! I thought Saturday would never get here. It’s been busy, but a productive week. One week ago I started a new chapter in this thing we call life. I was tired of being tired. For the last couple of months I’ve been struggling to make my word counts, but now, well I’m exceeding them and the brain fog is clearing out.
I’ve been working on my Christmas romance that should’ve been finished two weeks ago, but with the brain fog, I wasn’t up to my potential. Now, that’s all changed. I’m making up for the lost time and adding the words I’ve missed. I can’t wait for the release of this sweet romance. It will have you singing Jingle Bells and wanting to go out and deck the halls.
As for my health, I started using the Thrive system last week and I’m amazed at the results in just a week. My energy is coming back and my concentration is where it needs to be. Oh and all of you know how much I love my coffee, well, I’m down to one and a half cups a day, Amazing! With all this energy, I might finish next years Christmas book by Easter!
So, what do you guys have planned for today? Me, I’m getting my house in order, then helping get our Church ready for the Fall Festival that’s happening tomorrow. But I will be getting in my extra word count this afternoon.
Hey guys! It’s Friday and I’m feeling great. For a while, I’ve been so sluggish and my mind’s been foggy, but now, well, I’m back to feeling great. I followed the advice of my sister in law and started a new healthy regimen. I also started using Thrive, which has jumpstarted my energy. My writing brain is back in the game and I’ve been hitting my word counts again.
Since I have my writing back, I have several exciting things coming down the pipe. One is my upcoming Christmas book release, “Hideaway Lane”. So, in honor of my renewed energy and excitement, here’s a peek at the cover!
Good morning! Here in Georgia, it’s finally feeling like fall. I love this time of year. And the fun part is, my writer’s brain goes into overdrive. Which gives my fingers a workout and my computer a heart attack.
I’m working on the 2nd book in the Wishful Harbor series. It’s actually based at this time of year, so I feel the cool, crisp bite in the air as I write the words. I can see the landscape around me. The leaves are turning and the sky is bluebird blue. As my characters walk up the sidewalk, I can smell the fresh crisp clean air. Yes, I get lost in the world of my characters everytime I work. It’s amazing the world’s I’ve seen through the eyes of my characters.
So, when’s your favorite time of the year to write?
Good Thursday morning! It’s release day! Do I sound excited? Well, I am… Breakwater officially released today and I’m beyond excited. This series is so much fun to write and I can’t wait to hear from my adoring readers.

It’s Wednesday and I feel alive! What about you? Have you smiled this morning? As I write this, I can’t help but smile. Why you might ask? Well, I’m doing a small reveal today, which is exciting.
When you create a series, sometimes you create an emblem that represents that series. Well, when I created the Wishful Harbor Series, I wanted a special emblem and my awesome design team went to work to make sure that the dream I had for this series came to life. Of course, I’m not revealing the covers yet, just the emblem, for now…
So, I’d like to introduce you to the Wishful Harbor Series!
