Friday, Coffee, and Writing

It’s finally Friday. Wow, what a week! My submission to Harlequin has gone from a ‘Received’ status to a ‘In Progress’ status. Per the help screen, that means it’s on an Editor’s desk. Let’s just say I’ve check my email and status so many times that my laptop should automatically go on the site as soon as it’s opened.

As for the Five Oaks Ranch series, well I’m five chapters in on Maggie, which means the series is almost complete, sadly. I’ve come to know these siblings so well. They’ve been a part of my daily writing for over a year. The last book will be like a keepsake as the final story, the parents will be told. It will include recipes and Christmas goodies. I’m excited about it.

Tomorrow is my local book signing, which excites me. With every book signing, I gain more knowledge on ways to make them better. Since this one is in my hometown, I look forward to seeing old friends. The last one at this bookstore was great. So many friends and family came out to support me. This time I have a really cool gift basket to give away and possibly some books every thirty minutes.

So, enjoy today because the weekend is only hours away!

As always, good writing and May God Bless book signingyou..

Hiram Book Signing – the rundown.

Saturday I had a book signing about two hours away from my home. It was a dreary, nasty, rainy day, which affected the attendance. But even with that said I enjoyed the day. I had a nice time talking with one of the owners about publishing, selling, and other authors.

I actually call Saturday’s book signing a learning experience. As I took in the other local author books and the swag they had with their book displayed, I gained many ideas. Of course as a people watcher, I took in the expressions of those that came in and out of the door. It was comical that most of the patrons during my stay there were men.

It never fails that I always forget something, and this time it was the jar to put the entry slips for the giveaway in and the bowl for the candy. They were nice enough to provide me with something to use. Even with the best plans, something can go wrong.

Now my Lean on Him series and the Five Oaks Ranch series are represented at their store which excites me. It’s a new territory to gain some new fans.

Hope all is well with all of you.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

I have much to tell, but some will have to wait!

First of all, I hope all is well with you this Tuesday morning. For me it’s going wonderful. I have news, but some can’t be told until later this afternoon, but I can fill you in on some of it.

The advertisement above is the first bit of news. Yes, I have another book signing event coming up in September. I’m getting excited already, so things are looking good. If you’re anywhere near the Hiram, Georgia area on September 26th then come by and let’s talk.

Another bit if news is that I’m working on a new book that goes in a totally new direction from my norm. It’s not my usual cowboy romance, but a contemporary romance with some history sprinkled in. I’ve been hinting for a couple of weeks about something exciting in the works, well this is it. It’s based in Tuscany, Italy. I told you it was a step away from my usual writing. I had this in my mind for a while, but suddenly it came rushing in and needed to be brought to life. So now, three chapters in, I’d say it is on its way.

Now, for the news that will come this afternoon, let’s just say my editor is working on it and she holds the key to unlock the news. I don’t even know all the details yet, which has me on the edge of my seat.

So, how’s your week going? I hope your writing is going well and that you’re working on something exciting.

As always, good writing and may God Bless You!

Monday morning, so feeling it…

Good Monday morning! I do hope all of you had a great weekend. As for me, it was pretty good. It was a busy weekend, but a productive one. Even though I’m not a football watcher, our son wanted to watch the Super Bowl so we did. Well, I watched it between writing and social media surfing 😉

The one regret I had for the weekend was the extra glass of sweet tea I had last night during the game. Let’s just say, someone didn’t get much sleep. It’s amazing the thought’s that go through your head as you toss and turn, trying desperately to snatch up some sleep. If I could record my thoughts during those times it would make a novel or two.

I’m starting to get excited about my book signing on the Valentine’s Day. It’s such a wonderful honor and I can’t wait to get it started. Since I’m not a person that enjoys a lot of attention, this has been something I’ve been praying about. I feel a calming now so it’s all good.

So, what did you do this weekend? Was it productive or did you get some much needed rest? Did you meet your word count, sadly I didn’t ?

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…
