Funny thing about the South…

I just love living in the southern part of the US. When we think it’s going to be icy we close schools. Well, if you guys don’t hear from me tommorow, it’s because I might not have power. We’re expecting freezing rain, snow flurries and then the temp is dropping to a low on Tuesday of 5 and a high of 26. Well when you live in Georgia that pretty much shuts down life as we know it. The stores run out of milk and bread. I’ve never understood that. I always think of snack foods and sodas.

Don’t get me wrong, I love snow, but ice not so much. That usually means that the power will not stay on long and then we’ll have trees falling and it’s just a mess. I do love snow in big quantities.

I do hope everyone stays safe during this huge snow event here in the US.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You…

Burrr!!!!!

Well the snow missed up in central Georgia last night. But we did get an arctic blast. It’s 29 degrees on my thermometer this morning. It was definitely a brisk walk to my office this morning.

It’s one of those mornings when I’d love to stay curled up by the fire either writing or reading. But it’s that time of year for us accountants. I have five hundred things to complete before the IRS releases us at the starting line.

Hope everyone has a great Friday. By the way, yes it’s Friday and my son is out of school Monday for the MLK Holiday, so we will be sleeping in. Looking forward to a 3 day weekend, well somewhat of one. I don’t have the luxury of taking the whole day off Monday. I might lounge around in my pjs a little longer than normal Monday 🙂

As always, good writing and May God bless you!

Where your writing takes you…

As I start this post I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was wonderful. Now on to the clean up and take down and enjoying time with my son. My husband says it looks like Christmas threw up in our house. So I like to decorate. What? On to the post…

Where does your writing take you? It can take you to different countries, different lives and let your dreams come true at your fingertips. When you are writing open up your heart and experience it.

As I write I usually try to throw in a fantasy or something I love. That way I get to live the fantasy and make it come true for my characters. I get to do the things I wouldn’t dare do in real life.

Through my characters and lots of research, I get to go to places that I have dreamed of going. It’s so much fun to experience the places through my characters. If you put enough descriptions you can carry your reader off to places beyond their Kindle, Nook or paperback. You can take them to exotic destinations with the sun dancing on the clear blue water or even take them to snow covered chalets with crackling romantic fires.

The sky’s the limit when writing.  Give your reader and yourself an adventure, you both deserve it. So get writing and live your dream through your writing. Go to that place, or do that thing you want to do, live the dream.

As always, good writing and May God Bless You!
